Hollavana Hallo 2003, when i was young and carefree then. The 18 days of CIP were one of the most interesting, most enriching ones. Probably due to the fact that we were the youngest amongst the team, we were well looked after and all attention were on us most of the time. Oh wellz.. Hollavana is in the Tumkur District. Impressions of the exact location are a little hazy now... so if anyone can enlighten me with regards to where exactly it is, i wld love to make a trip back again before heading back to Singapore...
It was a true CIP trip... although we didn't have to endure the tiring work of erecting fences around the school vicinity, we weren't there to enjoy life either. We slept on the cold hard slab floors of the hostel, where all the other boys from the neighbouring villages lived. We endured 2 weeks of icy cold water drawn from the borewell daily. We lived through the lack of electricity and total darkness by 9pm every night. But each day was filled with new sights, new learnings, new excitements. Was is cos we were much younger and thus, more adventurous then? i don't know. But i will love to relive that very moment again.
