Ajanta Caves - The sleeping buddha...

You have to be there to appreciate its full beauty... Its hard to capture the true essence of it through the eyes of a digi cam..

Ellora Caves - the Jain Temples

Can't remember the story, but Shiva shook the earth and the poor man was left struggling to hold the earth on his arms... (i think..)

In Ellora - listening to the old tour guide...

Ellora - the largest Hindu Cave...

Ellora - on our way to the Jain temples..

Ellora - a withered willow tree..

Ellora - waiting for me to finish with my camera whoring.. they look bored..

Ellora, outside the Jain Temple...

artistic shot! engineered by me!!! :p

the teaching buddha...

the oldest form of Buddhism... They don't pray to any human form...

Ajanta... A peek at the caves situated like a horseshoe (U)..

Ajanta - the paintings, still so vivid despite the thousand years of history...

Ajanta - stories of how Buddha attained enlightenment...

Da gals, outside Ajanta...

Ellora.. Kudos to our guide... Not mentioning his vast knowledge of the caves, he kept up with us vigilantly although he was always in his coughing fits... we were so afraid that he wld collapse any time!

Aurangabad was a spiritual journey for all of us... The work started in the 8th century and continued through the 13th century... The pictures are a mix of the Ellora and Ajanta Caves... Not separately put but I will make sure to label them properly! Hopefully, my memory still serves me correctly...
