technical note: "hdr" stands for "high dynamic range". This is achieved by taking a bracketed exposure. For example, one shot at normal exposure, one shot underexposed (which brings out highlight detail), and one shot overexposed (which brings out shadow detail). Software (such as photoshop) is then used to combine these images. The result is a single image which has much more detail than a standard photograph.
