We spend our 2008 summer vacation on Isla Mujeres, Mexico. First day was cut short due the storm remnant of Hurricane Gustav. Luckily, Day 2 was without rain.

We spent Day 2, our first full-day on the island, walking from the northern part of the island where we stayed at all the way to Punta Sur, the southernmost tip of the island. That came out to about 15 miles walk round-trip (the whole island is approximately 7-mile long). It was a long hot walk (blisters and sunburn to prove it), but the gorgeous view at Punta Sur and having earn the bragging right for walking the island from tip to tip was well worth it :)
