I all of my shots came out like these. I would quit my job, go to work for ESPN the mag (laughter). You have a MAC?? how cool is that. In other words, I like the clarity, the shop actions shots the angles. but remember I'm one of your prize students ...

Don't worry, the color is great on my screen, so as the white balance. 1 &2 are good.

i don't see grain. i'm not much for sports photography honestly but these are really really nice !!! the color and clarity rock as well as telling the story real well. congrats on the new imac ! i bought a custom configured one a few months ago and i love it what are you using for post processing ?

I know inside sports shots can definitely be a challenge, but the higher iso didn't seem to have much of an effect. How high did you have to push it? A bit noticeable on #2 when enlarged, but definitely not bad. The colors and clarity seem great. I like the angles of #1 and #2. Congrats on your new purchase!

These are incredible shots, Andrea! You've captured some great action, and everything is so sharp. I like the lighting. I've tried shooting basketball before, and it's NOT easy. (At least it wasn't for me.) I'm so impressed with yours!

They turned out really good. I remember girls version of b ball as a post with a hoop and no backboard. Do you mean that Australia has joined the twentieth century.

These are great sports action shots... no grain at all here and colour turned out great!! :) I really like that second one!! The girls form in that third shot is kind of funny though... doesn't look proper to me haha

Well..I first must say that I have absolutely no problem with -reasonable- noise. And the level of noise here is still pretty low. all pretty good action shots. Well caught, especially #1 & 3. I honestly think you did a good job.

you can definitely tell that lighting was a problem at this venue. given that, i think that these 4 shots turned out well despite the fact. i really like the forth one best out of all of them as it has the best lighting and clarity. good job working with the elements! ^_^

They look great to me! I see no grain and color looks true. I love the last one - the girl in mid air as she makes the basket! I don't think I will ever get a shot like that (especially since I don't go to basketball games ;-) )

Enlarged the noise seems very low, as many have already pointed out. Lighting is always a challenge, especially in indoor and highly artificial light, so I think you've done incredibly well to counter-act it - the only time I really noticed it is in the third shot, but even then it has a nice yellow tinge to it, not a harshness. What PP'ing did you do to the shots? Just sharpening? I'm finding it hard to tell to be honest! For me, the first and last shots are the better ones - the first a great mid-action shot with great angle and framing. The fourth, another good action shot, has really great light and excellent clarity. All in all, a really damn good set, hun. I'm sure Elise will be really happy with that first shot! :) xo

Personally, I'm impressed as motion is hard to capture at the best of times, let alone the indoor lighting. I can only tell you've fiddled with the lighting in #3, but that's just pickiness. As for the action shots though, they're spot-on. :) (Am I only one with a certain song stuck in my head now??)

you are too hard on yourself - i seriously am so impressed with your action shots, and then i read your note and i'm like, is she kidding??? i'm also a huge basketball fan so i find these really fun. what does she play for? a pro, semi-pro, or college team?? i love #2, great angle and composition! :-)

I think these look fabulous! I like the way you capturd her in the air on photo #4. I'm so jealous of you getting a MAC. That is so cool. But your photo on my computer look great. So don't worry. I thik it's impossible for you to have a bad picture.

You did a fantastic job. I love these photos. You should be very proud! I don't know what you shoot with, but normally you'll find the sports shooters at 1600 iso and f/2.8. Custom wb is a must as is a good flash. A lot of these guys have lights they set up around the gym too. Probably the most important thing is a fast lens. I'm not a gym shooter. It's one of the most difficult conditions to shoot in. IMO, grain goes with these shots because that's what you are going to see. There are programs out there like noise ninja, but I do not know much about them. You better be smacking yourself on the back because I think you did a fantastic job!

Love the shots. You're obviously a bit more skilled than me. Like alot. You should have said that these are the only ones you took. But I think you're like most of us, that is, you take 100 shots to get 10 good ones. Isn't digital photography grand!

Whoa! These are great. I can't see any noise...do not worry! Sports photogrpahy is solid. My partner plays ice hockey and I am yet to get a good shot of him; the lighting is always awful and I can never get the shots sharp enough. I am in awe.

I think these are great! As far as low light and noise... I really think there is little grain. I can't see your EXIF data so don't know what you're shooting with but I think you did an excellent job. P.S. We got an IMac for x-mas and the display is amazing! But it still sits next to me since I'm chicken to really learn it. I heart my laptop PC ;)

Compliments, i'm a big volleybal fan and still have to go to make some pictures of it. These shots look ok to me although its hard to tell on this blog. In fact i hardly see any noise in these pics. In normal pictures i cant stand noise but in shots like this its inevitable and i do not think its a problem any way. Its the way the cam works:-)
