Colors of an Autumn Day - Part 1

A short drive from the hustle and bustle of Melbourne takes you away to an oasis of deep, rich colors of Autumn.
These were taken while wandering around a private garden which opens its gates to visitors all year round. Im not usually one for garden photography, so if its not your cup of tea either I totally understand, but I just couldn't help myself because this set is just all about the colors.

#2 looks like a watercolor! What a pretty blend of colors. And I'd like to have that gazebo! Yes, autumn is all about the colors! Thanks for a few garden shots ;-)

Wow! What a beautiful garden... I wondered where these shots were taken. My personal favourite is #1, a gorgeous macro, so warm and inviting. :)

We had a good weekend here - much house cleaning (there's an inspection looming) and some clothes shopping. Bought the most gorgeous long-line red cardigan (hehe... no, not turquoise!) which I'm looking forward to wearing. With the cooler weather coming up this week, I may just get the opportunity! :)

#4 is my favorite...fall colors in April gave me a start, but of course Melbourne is opposite from the US as far as seasons go.

I totally love the first one! Great colors and focus. It's such a strange feeling to me that you are going through autumn while I am finally going through spring. I had never thought about it before.

Autumn is my favorite time of year, I think it's the most beautiful (I named my daughter Autumn). Your trees are getting ready to lose their color, ours are beginning to get theirs. Very pretty!!

wow ! i forget you are having opposite season !
that first image is so soft and the color is perfect .
it looks, im sure exactly as you saw it.

sometimes digital color can be too bright and fake looking.
this set really shows the true color.

I'll just chime in here, even though you have a zillion other comments of praise, to write that I do love fall colors and particularly like the maple (?) in the last image, but then I also admire the first image of the leaf and soft focus. Well done!

Shots 1 and 2 are particularly great here.
The forst one is a superb macro with gorgeous colors, details and blur all around.
Second one is really well done. My fav. I love the composition, the work with the focus and the colors. Wonderful.
The first of course is VERY interesting too.
It is still funny to see your keaves falling when ours just appeared : )

for something that's not your cup of tea, these are fantastic shots, the colours are just stunning. I haven't seen trees that colour yet around here, have been searching for them. They're all my favourite, can't pick a best. well done.

holy fantastic andy! i know that this isn't your 'normal' post but that makes these shots all the more spectacular.

i am just REALLY loving number four. something about how those reds are dangling into the frame, simply beautiful. of course i love autumn foliage so i love this whole darn tootin' set.

i left new york right at the cusp of autumn this year so i got to see the leaves chaning, but i fear that i won't witness that scene again for many a year to come. lucky for me i have friends from around the world here on photoblog to keep me in the 'fall color' circle ~_^

Great colours, and you have portrayed Nature exceedingly well here. I've always had a great love for acers (called maples in some parts of the world) but these don't grow well in Spain (too hot, they need a temperate climate) so it's lovely to be reminded by you of their vibrant colours. "I'm not usually one for garden photography" ... HA! EVERYTHING you do is spectacular, and frankly, I'm beginning to become quite jealous of your skills and vision in everything you do! You are what I aspire to become!
