Classroom Capers - The Art of Paperwork

2008.05.05

I had been hoping to post some shots of my kinder groups big project that we have been working on for the past few weeks. But seeing as it's still not finished i think I'll hold off until the next Classroom Capers installment.

Instead I present you with two images. A little abstract, a little dark and very representational of just how I am feeling. After a 15 hour day my mind is in a fog. All i see is pens and filing cabinets. Paperwork is the worst part of my job :(

On the upside, we had photo day today. I got to drool over the photographer's equipment and followed him around like a shadow all day long, taking note of everything he did..haha..Im such a sticky beak! The children were fabulous and so well behaved but Im glad to be home and ready for bed!

**I realize I'm a broken record on this issue, but Ill do the catch up tomorrow. Can barely keep my eyes open**

Madoc Hope you had a good sleep.

I really love how tiny the DOF is on these, especially the second one.
Very well done.
I'm looking forward to your shots of the project.

rolpa Very neat work! Love both.
rolpa · 2008-05-05: 08:24
etodd80 Both are cool, in an abstract way. The pen is my favorite of the two. Ditto to Madoc, the dof is great. Good luck catching up on sleep!
etodd80 · 2008-05-05: 08:50
PaperWings I love it. Perfect fit...commentary/pictures!! NIce work, now get some rest. :)
PaperWings · 2008-05-05: 09:16
LostAspen Love the dof on both. At first I thought the first was flames, and I was like, cool, they were lighting stuff on fire! But no. Just some files. Hope you are more rested today. :-)
LostAspen · 2008-05-05: 09:19
ThomasChu The rapid phasing out of view in short distance in No.2 is astounding. Special handlig of Depth of View in No.2 Both are my favourite.
ThomasChu · 2008-05-05: 09:23
veganess A "sticky beak"? I've never heard that one before!! :) It took me awhile to figure out the first one. I love the last one. Don't think I've ever seen a ball point so up close and personal before. Are you saying that although after all that paperwork, and everything's a blur, you still have to focus on the point at hand?
veganess · 2008-05-05: 09:39
mystic1 Real cool shots I saw the first one and thought wow she is teaching the kids about fire, then upon closer look I realized it was not fire, but I still like the first one the best, even if it was not fire hahaha hope you got some sleep :)

joycephotography Love the 2nd shot.
joycephotography · 2008-05-05: 11:36
Amethyst Beautiful closeups... incredible depth of field and I love all the negative space at the top! The first one is so abstract that I couldn't tell what it was without looking very closely. Lovely.
Amethyst · 2008-05-05: 11:39
Nayah I am amazed by the fact, you make such great pictures of things we might consider as first as really simple!
Nayah · 2008-05-05: 11:52

Geez - how in the heck in the heck did you manage to pull a 15hr day there... stay all day until the Committee Meeting?!? I don't envy that one bit. :/

Emma I hope you managed to get some sleep zzzzzzz

Cool shots, with nice close-up details.

15 hour days are not good, however I'm looking forward to seeing this project you have been working on :))

Queen911 I'm drooling over your photos. How do you do it?
Queen911 · 2008-05-06: 22:46
vollenda I hope you are rested! These are both very cool. I like the focus of #2. It's mysterious!
vollenda · 2008-05-06: 23:45
kazshots wow, I love that the pictures kind of look like weird different things. I think the first one could look like smoke from candles, and the second, well that's a bullet! Mate, 15 hour day you, poor thing!!!
kazshots · 2008-05-07: 01:41
Peche Great, abstract shots... the first is great, but the second is sooo cool... the dof is so small, the composition and lines leading towards the right - that is some macro lens you've got there.
It's so great to see you using it so well.
I love it - if you squint you can get more detail of the pen!
Sorry, not a very intelligent comment, but well, you'll just have to deal with it :P lol
Peche · 2008-05-07: 03:31
tomie the first one is amazing!
tomie · 2008-05-08: 01:05
kopackukac GREAT!!!!
kopackukac · 2008-05-08: 01:54
Bushman btw. when I saw first picture for the first time, I just came back from 12hours night shift, and I was quite tired... and what I saw ? Smoking matches :D try to look at it with squinted eyes and use a little imagination...or maybe it's just me :|
Bushman · 2008-05-08: 03:07
mintra Wow this is so beauitful.
Congrats.
:)
mintra · 2008-05-08: 04:16

Lindyart · 2008-05-08: 21:21
BreezyOnTheEyes these are so different for you! i love the abstract direction that your mind fog has taken you in ~_^

as for following the photographer around all day, that's the best way to learn!!

BreezyOnTheEyes · 2008-05-08: 22:54
persi mmm, dreamy...
persi · 2008-05-09: 06:21
