I have just released the new update about an hour ago. Please report any problems to me or in this thread.
We aimed to make navigating around Photoblog a lot easier and the speed of the site even faster. If you are experiencing any problems with the site, clear out your cache and then re-try.

Hey,
little problem:when I click on "Home", I come to the "browse" section.
When do you plan to integrate the GeoTag function?

We were going to release the GeoTag feature in this update, but realized that the system that was being created wasn't the best way to geotag our Photoblog data. We're rethinking and redoing the system for a release at a later date. For now, I don't think we can give any solid estimates regarding GeoTagging, sorry .

When clicking on the photo to enlarge (or clicking on the magifying glass), you will find the text "Enlarge Image" in the lower left corner of the enlarged photo. I was thinking that his might be confusing. New users might think that the photo can still be enlarged.
Perhaps we could have it changed to "Enlarge d Image"?
Anyway, I really like the new functionality. Thanks!

doidefiesta: I cannot seem to find what you're referring to. When I hover over the magnifying glass, I see the text "Enlarge Image" as a tooltip, but after I enlarge I cannot find the text anywhere. Do you still see it?
kackac: This should now be fixed. Sorry.

Michael and Mike - Well done, and thank you for the release, it is appreciated and the features are great while still sticking to the original look and feel of Photoblog.
I too am able to see the issue that Doidefiesta is referring to. If you click the image itself, you get the larger, lightbox version of the photo with the title in the lower left (if you titled it), but if you click on the magnifying glass to the top right of the photo to enlarge, it uses the ALT tag from the magnifying glass image "Enlarge Image" for the title in the lower left of the lightbox version of the photo.
Example:
Other than that, things look great. Thanks again and have a safe and happy 4th!

Thanks for your efforts, with the new updates. The addition of "in-out"messages is excellent.
Cheers,
Colin.

Thanks for the efforts !
But I think I have to see how it looks on a PC...
I'm using Camino on mac, and I have to say it looked better before, but it might be the software.... the page has a strange look and does not make the "reading" easier....
It does not run faster, plus I cannot edit a previous post (for example I wanted to correct an error in my writting, and I could not save it...)
But... I repeat, it might be the software I'm using, so I'll try it somewhere else and keep you posted
Regards
Jen

fellow photobloggers
be aware that you should clear your browser's cache after the update, that should solve most of the design issues like vertikal links and bullets instead of page numbers in firefox, the size of the reply window in messages, etc.
i thought it was a bug, too, but happens that with a clear cache, all works fine.
cheers

Ok I have fixed the enlarge image issue.
Yes and make sure you clear your cache.
As for the safari issues.. I am doing all the testing on the beta version 3 that is out for Windows. I have NO access to a mac cept for the Apple store which is always way to crowded.
If someone with a Mac that has a IM program like AIM or such wants to work with me for an hour or such to clear up the problems that would be great.

Mike,
While it's no substitute for actually seeing the code in Safari on a MAC, you can at least see the results on Safari on MacOSX by using this service...
http://www.browsrcamp.com/
It will fetch the page and create a JPG image of that page for your viewing.

Very well done! The changes you made are subtle, non-intrusive and make a lot of sense. I especially appreciate the thumbnails on the category pages, they look very neat and clean. Which makes me wonder if you could change the thumbnails on the monthly pages and the preview thumbs on the entry pages to be perfectly filled squares as well? On these pages the thumbs for 3:2 landscape formats are not completely filled. Just a minor issue, but I think it would look a lot cleaner if they were completely filled
Anyway, thanks a lot for your efforts!
Henning
