So we have had many people ask us to be able to change the background colors of their Photoblog. We decided to sit down and make it happen.
You can easily use the color wheel or enter your own hex code into the following page
Account Customization
Once it is set, you can always change it as needed. All viewers will see your Photoblog in the new background color.
Feel free to check out my Photoblog for an example of how it looks

@forevrdelayed:
Did you refresh your browser page? What browser are you using?

@ sagelike31:
Are you saying you want to have control over the internal background? The internal background is not set to gray. It is 80% transparent white, so it should blend into any background color selected...
This is the solution we came up with to have text on photoblogs universally readable no matter what background color is selected.

@sagelike31:
You are correct that on your page the internal color displays as neutral gray. However, since we're doing a 80% opaque white, if you change your background to red (for example), the internal background will turn into a pinkish color.
Since you are using black, the internal color is black + 80% white = gray.
We'll consider your suggestions. Thanks.

The Photoblog sign's backround is blue, even when I change my blog's backround to some else colour it still is blue.
Does it have to be blue?

I really love this idea. I think the different background colors can really help to set off your images.
But I also agree with Sagelike.... about changing the internal colors. I also think it would add a bit more of a personal touch. I think the black background is going to be the new white, just because of how it makes the images pop. Which is FANTASTIC. But if you're looking to create a more personal effect, changing the text box colors [and maybe different for each post, like you can do for myspace] it would create more of a personalized or custom feel to each persons blog space. Just my thoughts for the morning.
Really, I love the black background... definitely!

@Merily:
The Photoblog logo's background is blue? If this is what you're talking about, it shouldn't be. The background of the logo should be transparent. What browser are you using?

Thanks PhotoBlog Team, for the new features. I really like the addition of blog page background colour. Fantastic idea.
It did take me two attempts to get it right, after realizing to move the ring colour "dot" to colour area, then to centre square for fine tuning to desired colour, then save.
Maybe this is where some other bloggers have made the same error.
Thanks folks
Cheers,
Jet.

Coooooool!
At first I thought the unchanging internal background was lame, then I realized (by reading this forum) it's actually transparent. Maybe we could have the option to change how transparent we want it to be? Anyway I think it totally works! I like very much the new options

That's a great idea, and definitely doable... We'll look into it.

@Merily,
What about the other icons that appear on that page? Do they have a background too? The mailbox icon, the icons that appear to the right of images, the three gray icons in the left column?

Hi Guys,
I see a lot of users have recast their pages, often to match their photography which is cool. I notice however that with at least three users with coloured backgrounds I was unable to provide any feedback as the upper right icons had disappeared. I tried both Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer. Has anyone else noticed this or is it something to do with my own settings.

Is it possible that they have dis-allowed comments?
You can do the same by two methods...
-one is on a per-post basis, the dropdown at the bottom of the post (in edit mode) comments open/closed.
-another way is to disable comments for non-members, this can be found here.
