Well, I don't really use film any more, but only because my film camera die and I don't want to replace it (maybe some day if I spot a deal on ebay). The only reseaon for me to go back to film will be b/w. With access to a darkroom in school, b/w prints from film still beats digital, even from 35mm.

I love the grain(noise) from film...make us more careful to press the shutter, one shoot one kill, but the most I like film camera is the desire of waiting the result....

I don't know, I was always in the new technological revolution, so I support digital, never a wasted shot, also mine converts, directly on the camera, to black and white. Still, film requires no battery, but always needs more film, kind of like SD cards in digital. Also, there's never a need to anxiously await developing, and go through it: chemicals, darkness, etc.

yes, I use film as well as digital ... I use Ilford for the black and white and Kodak for color. I love the convenience of the digital where I can just go home and load my pictures, but the majic of working with the film doesn't ever go away and I will be sharing my darkroom not only with my children but my grandchildren as well. My film camera's are from my grandfather and my father, so I'm hoping the love of film will go on for another generation or two.

Yes. And not only digital, but the earlier "C-41 process oriented" culture PLUS the digital age changed things for the 'convention-
al' B & W shooter who ALSO commercial processes. For those in this category, have you noticed how much 'flatter' such prints seem to be compared to yesterday? It's that mass digital printing that's more attuned for color and C-41 B & W!
For conventional B & W processed commercially slight OVERexposure combined with the contrastiest B & W filter "you can get away with" are my recommendations and remedy for this, although your negatives will be permanently overexposed and contrasty. In short: "Fuji Neopan 1600 is the new Tri-X"!

well i am in a photo class where we still use black and white film because it makes you think a lot more before you actually press the button. on the other side, if we are working with people we use digital cams just because it is easier. i prefere black and white film prints though, i just think it looks very classical and is... original. not everyone can do that!

Yes. I love B & W film. The whole darkroom process is very soothing and I love watching my work come to life. I use digital as well and would not trade my Nikon for anything. Both are very different processes and both have their ups and downs. Digital allows everyone to produce great work the first time. Film requires a certain amount of knowledge and specific skill. Photography is a great medium for art and everyone can do it.

Yes!

Film all the way.

The only time I use digital is for quick, casual pictures [ie, my friends going bowling or my brother being goofy].

Or if I go somewhere where my manual SLR isn't allowed, being categorized as a "professional camera."

But any and all photography that lends itself to being important to me HAS to be film.

I love taking care in everything from the framing of the picture, to rolling the film, developing, drying and then finally making the prints and matting them.

The darkroom has been my best friend when I need quiet time and like I saw mentioned, is really theraputic.

no.

i also gave up on vynil records, cassette tapes, candle light, inefficient 100W light bulbs, the camera obscura, drawing the hat and bowing before my sovereign and the steam engine.

no,

but i shot digital like i would shot film, i always think before i take a photo, for film i don't have time, postprocesing is so time consuming, but i have an old film camera

and digital or film, format ... it's all about the photographer and how he is seing world around him ;)

I still use B&W film because I've been shooting it for many years and know what to expect and how to "see" in black and white, that's the main difference, Without color and an unlimited number of shots you must slow down and really think about what you're doing. This is always a good thing. BJ

I don't use film any more, due to the quick access to results etc.Although film is more sensitive to light,it really isnt all that necessary unless you are filming scientific things like x-rays and other similar things. This is really spacial dimensional though and results can be found at google scholar.Light sensitivity can be due to emulsification;and alot of other pro-variables.,Electronic uptake of light can be improved, although currently price and choice are what can be conveyed as conventional.

I used to use a Analog camera as well as a tape recording video camera. though with time I found out the new ones have better quality than the old ones, so I guess few are the ones that use it for now!
