I received a private message from this spam account.
My account settings are (I thought) set to have only my friends be able to contact me.
How is it possible that I received a PM from this "person"?
How can I avoid this in the future?
For now I have blocked this spam account, but this doesn't stop others from PMing me.

Good question McMommy. I would like to know the answer to that too. Seems like there has been quite the flooding of spam messages everywhere you look on photoblog. It's just too easy!

My concern isn't about the spam message itself, it's with how I managed to receive it when only friends are supposed to be able to contact me? I block spam accounts so they don't bother me again. But private message controls don't seem to work. That's my concern.

This is an attempt to get your personal information. Once they have that they get into your bank account and steal your money. Also they use your account for laundering drug money.
People who use this are sad sorry little freaks that need a spanking.

Amen to that Marjorie. I have it so only friends can message me too but for whatever reason, I still received that message. I blocked the user now.

This blog of mine is set as 100% private. But I'm able to recieve messages from everyone who wishes to contact me. Guess this is the rule of PB.
