Or do you simply keep storing your images on the computer? Do you take your card to a photo shop or do you print yourself at home?

Printers are getting pretty good at producing lab quality prints. I print all my images at home now. I choose a soft matte finish and I find Fujifilm to be the best paper out there in terms of value and quality. Ilford also make excellent paper at a slightly higher cost.

I used to just keep my pics on the computer and hardly ever bother to print them. It's such a waste, all you end up with are heaps of backed-up CDs.

Print them, share them and store them properly!

Most of my images are just on my computer, I do send any good shots to friends and family via email (let them pay for the ink and paper ;).

When I do print it's normally only 6x4 on my Epson PictureMate. The quality is awesome, as good as any high street lab. It'll even give a 'acceptable' 6x4 print from a 800x600 image.

Pretty cheap as well, I get about 130-150 shots from a £20 PicturePack.

I also have a Epson R300, but never really been happy with it for photos.

Hardly these days.

If its for pro output, then i send to print.... otherwise, my workflow is entirely electronic now.

However, if its an image I like, I'm never overt to paying out.

The most printing I've done was when I did my photography project.

Oh.. and printing of 100 calendars.. that was WAY too painful too! (but I had a commeriical printer do the dirty work)

Its all a matter of "how good would this image look blown up..."

At the very least I get 6x4.5's (cm) printed of everything I have worked on. In january I got 360 prints for that months work alone! From there I order larger copies of my favourites going upto 30 x 20 inch. I recently got an artwork printed out to 5 foot by 2 which really benifited from the huge size. It's strange but I feel that until a print is made it is not real, I have to have it in my hands to really appreciate it. I think I may be a analogue salmon swimming upstream in this digital river!

Only a very small percentage actually make it to print, but when I do print, it's usually an 8x10 or 11x14 on my Epson r2400 and getting framed for my walls or a gift. I've yet to print a 13x19 on my printer, but that day is coming soon.

Rarely. I have some of mine hanging in my house, from 8x10 up to 20x30, but I have more left over from my photography show than I have room to hang. They're just in a pile.

Well... It depends... Sometimes I do, but mostly I burn them into DVD for having them with some order since I cant have them all in hard drive...

I just print sometimes when I want to give some present to friends with some picture that they like specially

It depends.
Usually I print friend or family photos, sometimes I print my scenic photos.

If it is very good on screen, the plot might not be as good as it looks on screen. I think there should be some cases which the photo is not so great on screen but when it's printed that looks great. It is interesting to find the difference. Especially when I using image editing programs, it is probably very critical point of the work.

a lot of the pictures i take are of my new son, so we usually get prints made of those, either for hanging on the walls or sending to grandparents. i usually order prints from shutterfly, even though we have a photo printer. for the price of a picture package online and the difference in quality, i'd rather order them than waste ink and photo paper trying to get good prints out of my own printer.

We don't print pictures much these day, not when it's cheaper to buy a new printer than it is to buy ink cartridges! We've got a few that we want to put up on the walls now, I think we'll just order them from Jessops or somewhere like that.

I have printed a few, especially my sports photos. I want to eventually hang my own photo, when I take one I really like ;-), it would be a change to buying photos to hang.

I used to print in order to see them.
Now these days I put them on the photography site.

I have prints in my house, and for exhibitions. I have thousands of shots stored on digital media.

I also sell prints (mostly A3 size) so I guess I print around 10 a month of those.

I'm also currently working on a book of photographs which will of course be printed.

For the most part, I just upload them online for friends to see. But I'm going off to college this fall and I'll be printing 200+ photos to decorate my dorm wall.

Only personal stuff - my children mainly. The pictures that I would never put on the internet (no offense intended, because you lot have always been very kind about the pictures I do post here, but I'm not comfortable publishing photos of my kids.)

Family photos end up on the walls. One or two of my favourite landscapes have been printed, but I never got round to doing anything with them.

When your father-in-law can paint a convincing copy of a Monet, there's not a lot of places you can hang one of your own snaps...

I keep all of mine digital unless they are for a client. I keep mine stored on my computer, as well as backed up on 2 external hard drives, because I don't want to lose everything if I ever have a crash.

For clients I give them the option of printing a set of 4x6's or burning everything to CD and I host them on my website, also.

It depends on the importance of the photo..Since I still don't have a calibration kit for my computer and printer, I have to go to a lab to get my more important shots printed.

I rarely print anything. There is no reason to do so. I put my images on line in hopes that someone else will enjoy them, but printing them and putting them on the walls seems almost useless.

If I really like something I'll use it as my desktop pic.

I'm thinking of buying a domain and selling photos... never actually printed though.
