The long awaited firmware update for the LX5 is now available:

said to improve noise correction and speed of AF among other things which is welcome.

Does what it says too, AF twice as fast and totally silent, image noise insignificant at 400 iso which it certainly wasn't before.Why didn't they do it properly first time around?

Usable at 1600 ISO
