I am new to the community. I am learning to work through the site and finding very exciting. I am leaving for India soon and want to post photos here for feedback and input. I would also like to use it as a album where friends (personal friends) can stop in and view these photos on a daily basis. I do not know if that is possible without each of them registering. Most are not photographers, they simply want to view some daily photos of my travel. If this venue is not the place does anyone know of a site I could use for more daily postings so friends follow my travels with daily photo uploads? Welcome aboard! Your trip sounds exciting! This is a fantastic place to post photos daily and receive comments. You have control over who can see and comment on your post. You can leave comments open to the general public, and then your friends will be able to see and comment on your shots. You then simply share your blog address with them. Click Account on the Dashboard, and select Comments to adjust your blog to allow anyone to see and comment.

A registered member is a member of the Photoblog site. If you see someone's work you enjoy, and you would like to follow their blog, you can 'befriend' them. (click on Options under the bloggers name, and choose Befriend) Your account, for example, is set to friends only. This means that no one can see your blog unless they are first a registered member. Then they would have to send you a friend request, which you would have to accept, in order for them to see your blog.

You can decide who sees your posts in the privacy settings for your account. Click on "Dashboard" (if not already there) then "Settings" and then on "Your privacy". It is possible for viewers who do not have a PB account to view and comment on your blog. The explanations are clear in the "your privacy" settings. Allowing everyone (members and non-members) to post comments means the risk of spam and otherwise undesirable comments is greater.

Privacy settings allow you to control who can view your blog. Comment setting allow you to control who can comment. For example, my account is set for viewing by the General Public (in my Privacy settings) and comments only by registered users (set in my Comments settings) This is still the only way to allow non-members to post comments. If spam is a concern for you (and it should be, I'm not sure the upgrades have included any anti-spam measures) encourage your friends and family to register as users. They are not obligated to post their own photos.

For maximum ease of your personal friends viewing your trip, go to: Dashboard/ Account/ Your Privacy/ and then under Photoblog, check General Public. Start posting and VOILA! all your personal friends will be able to follow your adventure!
