I am looking to acquire new monitors primarily to use for my photo work and would like opinions from any of you.
I currently use 2 ASUS 26" HDMI TFT LCD monitors and would like to go bigger and better, especially in terms of technical quality of viewing photos.
Anyone have a monitor in mind that they think is especially brilliant for viewing photos?
thanks!
Eric

I use the Apple monitor with my mac and a much larger monitor for the PC. The Apple one is far better. It also has a solid sheet of plastic on it, making it much easier to clean.
There's one high-end (and horribly expensive) brand that offers true Adobe 98 colour space: Lacey. I think they stop at 22". They're in the $1500 range.
Eizo and Iiyama were good and relatively cheap last time I bought their products. High contrast ratio and consistent colour spread. I didn't need to calibrate theirs as often as my Asus 26 (I have one too).
Bigger isn't necessarily better, btw. Larger monitors have larger pixels, but the same resolution (lines per inch) as smaller ones, which means colour consistency is compromised in some cases. They also heat up faster and go soft sooner.
Not much help, I'm afraid. I think you'd best start googling monitor reviews...

Already have been doing the review thing... one of the things that I have learned is my monitor is a TFT and what I should have instead is IPS (In-Plane Switching)... they apparently are much better at reproducing colors and such.
