Really nothing to critique on this shot... it looks like you nailed this technique perfectly... all I have is a question.. did you change the colour in post processing or with your set up?

I'm not really clear what you mean about "changing your settings"... but regardless colour is a matter of taste, for the most part. Your technique for the shot is wonderful, the clarity is really nice and there's plenty of detail. That said, I think the last one would show better detail with a different/lighter colour than this.
When I was experimenting with water droplets I tried to change the colour of my set, with different background and bouncing light etc... with varying degrees of success. Certainly some of the most fun I've had shooting in a long time...

Exactly !! I meant to say about changing color of water. Changing the color of container. Changing the surrounding lighting. This change of setting I meant to say .

Variations of the same image are a matter for the artist. If you feel one colour is more expressive than another, this is your call. How well one colour, as opposed to another, is received is, however, our call. Neither convinces me - I would have liked to see them in the original because what I see is the technical expertise (which you have) demonstrated in the shot. I don't think changing the colour changes the meaning or the perception. All I can do is congratulate you on the technique.
The third image appeals to me more for its technical prowess. I'm not getting a clear emotional message from the choice of colour. In purely technical terms, you might want to consider cropping the image at the top and the right to remove the edge. This is a purely subjective opinion.

Thank you for such constructive feedback. I believe I will improve on this facet of keeping things simple and original and concentrate more on technicalities being ameteour wrt to my skills.
Thank you once again revenant ·and McMommy
