What you guys say about photo theft? Recently I found one of my clicked pic is been used by a guy and uploaded it in wiki with his name.Really was shocked and at the same time was sad that the guy didn't care to take permission from me. If not taken permission , at least could have given me due credit there in the site for the photo

That's why i don't really like Wiki. The site is very unreliable and anyone could go in there and edit out things. so maybe you could somehow delete the pic.. i would say try to get a hold of someone on the site and claim plagiarism, but i have no idea how that works. I hope it goes well for you, and i do have to say so myself that is very messed up for a person to do.

I dnt want to get into such gigs of creating one account in wiki and do the talking there which I know will be of no use (just plain time waste). Many used to say many things about wiki ....now myself experienced it ..how plagiarism is rampant in the site .Sad for the guy who simply copy and say he got the talent thr.

The motto is: If it's posted on the net...it's fair game!
Ethics is not part of the game, nor is giving credit to the original photographer who shot the photo. It's unfortunate but that's reality. Watermarks can be removed and images altered. You can confront the thief, but I don't think it will change anything.
Integrity is not part of game.

Yeah you are right. On the flip side later I was smiling to myself thinking.... my taken shot (taken long back) was worthy of being selected by that crappy cheat and he uploaded in wiki .Lol

I would be very tempted to tell this person how much you like the pic, and ask if they would be so generous as to share with you how they accomplished it.

Get their gps co-ordinates and nuke them. Then threaten to do it again if they don;t give you an attribution.
It always works for me.

I know how it feels 4 of my photos are being used on Facebook as well and it sucks because they removed my logo and said they did the shot, I know I'm no Picasso and my work ain't that great but a little acknowledgment would have made me smile, just like my ugly Xmas photo made it to fp pb and my real work never makes it there haha cheer up mate.
