Have been downloading photos into dated folders onto my pc...no probs till recently. It seems to have really slowed down on my download and often it seems to be thinking about where to put them. Not being computer savvy I realise it is probably the amount I have but don`t know what people(photographers) normally do about this hiccup!
Hmmm... Not exactly sure what might be causing it. Is your PC semi-old and slow? Our photos are hosted at Amazon's servers, so the speed should always be the same
@va000119 If you're talking about downloading from your camera to the pc it's possible the hard-disc is getting full up. You could try downloading a program called CCleaner to remove junk files and fix the registry. Then you should defragment the harddisc either with the tool that comes with Windows or buy a good program like O&O Defrag.
Thanks we do defrag regularly and pc is relatively..new. Think may have to get an external thingy for photos as I think the hard disc is getting full up. Just thought I`d check and see what other folk do.
something to keep in mind if you're going to use an external drive for your photos.... you will be limited to the speed of the USB port... so you may not have better speed this way.
