Wanted to set up a photo blog for my site i just built. And i just wanted to say hello to the community. I love photography and im always willing to discuss technique, style, location, just about anything... lets chat if u have time take a look at my photos ive started posting there is alot more to come

also was wondering whats up with the theme shots, how often does the topic change, do you tag the photos with something specific, and is it just shooters take on topic?

Welcome aboard.. I'm sure you'll enjoy it here, its a friendly community. The intro is a great start, but the best way to generate traffic is to visit other blogs and leave comments, people usually oblige by doing the same.

The theme changes weekly, its done by admin with no control by members. All you have to do to enter is click on the theme of the week submission button on the right side of your photo (you can see it when you hover your mouse over your shot)

There are several member run initiatives... Scavenger Hunt, Tuesday Inspiration and Mystic Theme of the Week, to name a few. I'm sure the people running them would be happy for another participant.

And the PTC -- Photography Technique Challenge, from onlyricky

they sound like fun i would love to participate in them, i will have to keep my eye open for more

PTC is more about challenges and not themes, for example this week is night sky, so startrails might be one of the high points of this week challenge, you can contact me for more info ^_^ you and anyone who wants to participate ;)
