hello mike
well, thanks, but i already thought 20 were too many. i know you obviously have storage capacities like there is no tomorrow, but think of the MESS our fellow photo bloggers are already producing now in their blogs... upping this by 50% might just tip the balance... ;-)
still waiting for a good management system for tagging, categories and entries!!
happy snow fight days,
michael

with the up to 30 I am going to pagenate the entry page.. so the blogger will be able to set how many pics per "page" they want to show
So you can set you only want to show 5 per page and I can set 9 if I wanted to

all nice and right, and probably many people will be happy about the update...
i'm just already NOW drowning in picture entries of people that post collections of 20 similar, not similar, kinda related, kinda not related, randomly chosen pictures... it's like nobody CAN decide anymore which pics they really should publish and which not, because you don't NEED to make that decision anymore... just throw everything in and let the community deal with it...
i sort of liked the technical/design restrictions before, because they forced people to not publish any nonsense... no matter on how many pics i want so see individually on my browse page, if i check the entry itself then and find it clogged with just more of the same, i fear that for once, the sum of it all is LESS then the whole...
just my 2 cents and odd ramblings... you know how otherwise i'm your biggest fan! ;-)

EIDEA, you make good critical comments.
Great that Mike is making the system even more flexible, and I agree with eidea: less is more.

I've already lost my way. Too much to see, and difficult to navigate, or find new or different sites. I took down my previous site and opted to look, occasionally, at a few sites that do not appear to post the entire digital "roll" they shot of one item.
My life is too cluttered. Now the Photoblog may appear cluttered, also.

Thanks for the option guys and if it is too many for others then don't view them all... it's nice that the option is there when on occasion there may be more you want to show.. I think that all the changes that have been made since I 've been here have enhanced this site so much! Thanks!!

I think this is good idea, 30 pictures per entry, and it will have more variety for the viewer. Thanks..!

May be some are happy with 30... I do post sometimes up to 18... but I think more than 20 can be boring and takes long to upload depending on the connection. I'm in hotels 50% of the year and the connection can really be funny !!!
Anyway, it seems to me that the less you post the more people visit your blog
But never know... any one might need it one day, may be me..... It's good to have the choice ))
Thanks for improving regularly
Jen

I will make a setting where you set 10 photos per page on your blog and you can also set an override. So you can set to view ALL blogs at 5 images per page even if their setting is more.

mike, i like that last idea.
but please also implement an automatic crap filter that mysteriously analyzes all the picture uploaded by a standard set off well-known photographic rules (easy to obtain for a small fee by any photographic school) and then only shows you the 5 BEST shots, the five most interesting, the 5 that make the story...
you'd be the savior of the internet and probably need to get protection from the killer squads of the server and hard disk producers, but i'll be putting you into my daily prayers FOREVER! ;-)

I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me when I saw "30 photos per entry'! Thanks! I think it really helps for people like me who may wish to post more (than 20 photos)! Cheers! Merry Christmas!

Hi Mike. Thanks for all the effort to entertain all sort of ideas, likes & dislikes. I support the idea of maximum five images per page. But, to have to browse through 6 pages of that of all your friends' would take a wee bit too long. & for the crap filter... don't you think it would sort of discourage newbies to join the community? If I may suggest, why not let those with already 25 to 50 entries to post say 20 pix per entry per day and divided into 4 pages. Then those with already 50 to 100 entries, slightly more post and number of pages. Only those with already 200 entries may upload up to 30 pix per posting per day. The rational is that those with already 200 over postings are mature and wise enough to decide only their best to post. As for the crap filter, I believe the present 'friends' system is already a natural filter of our own choice. It's we who decide who we want to be friend with, mostly depending on whether or not we value and appreciate and like their postings, right? However, i have never rejected an offer of friendship. Thanks for your attention to my two cents worth. Cheers.

I can't imagine ever wanting to post 30 photos in one go,regardless of the fact that they could be split into several pages...however if there were photos of a special event, holiday or the like, from one of my family or close friends, I'd be happy to look at them all in one go..and don't forget photos that seem insignificant to some can mean a lot more to others..everyone has their own reason for posting here and all of us are at different levels photography wise..I just like to take photos when I can ..of things I like usually..simple as that.
Thank you photoblog..what a great site this is!
