I have recently switched jobs and I am now working at Text Link Ads as a full time programmer. They also run ShoppingAds and AuctionAds. So I decided to import a few small ads throughout the site since I know work there.

I hope they don't take away from the site but in order for Photoblog to grow we need a new source of revenue. One other idea I have tossed around is doing a "pro" type account that would give some extra added features. I'll just have to see how these ads work out

We were thinking like $1 a month or $10 a year for pro.. if you are pro you will never see an ad on the site and also no ads will show up on your blog.. It's an idea we are throwing around

The new ads are distracting and intrusive. So I guess it's good to have them. Up to now, I wouldn't have been so interested in a pay option.

I like the pro option ,I'd be all for it!I agree the ads are distracting .. having an option is a great thing.

I am thinking these off the top of my head

- great way to watermark any part of the image with many different types of watermarks
- save your image in full resolution to allow other people to download them.. or you set a max res you want to save it on our system as
- backup option.. if you lose your images you click a button and you can re-download them

that are just some I have on the top of my head.. if you have any other ideas I'd be open to them

I love the pro idea. It's within my budget and the features I would really like. This is such a great site and all around great place.

And if there would be some more options for our blog's design, like having a background image or things like that, it would be truly awesome!

I would also go for a a pro account. I think the resolution cap is certainly annoying especially with landscape oriented images. Also it would be great to add the ability to create an online portfolio with a clean URL.

Mike, 10$/year is peanuts if these features will be added! Anyway I have not noticed huge amount of adds therefore the current layout seems fine even now.

I'm new and liking what I am seeing. I'd go for $10 to eliminate the ads and get larger photos. I was mulling going pro on that other site (flick something) but it's a little pricy just to get more than 200 photos. I'm doing Project365 and photoblog is perfect for me.

I am fine with the Ads by Google, but the ShoppingAds seems too intrusive in terms of placement which spoil the balance of the page in my opinion.

Put me down to go pro too! I think it's a great idea and nice to give something back to you guys and all the work you do.
