my blog is hit by some guy leaving his pee marks again (have had that problem about year ago):

"why need camera? get from web lik befour. you photo no yours always. "

"O god, so bad photos, plees give up. Took by 5 years old?"

"maybe you nede specticle?"

anybody out there getting anonymous comments (often calling himself "?????" and writing very bad english), like i do every now and then - please leave a note here.

i am pretty sure i know who is behind this, but would like if there is others that he attacks. please leave a note or get in contact with me, if you have similar problems.

thx & cheers,

you can make your blog more private.

non photobloger subscribers can be stopped from viewing your blog.

as well you can chose to not allow non members to comment.

thx, i know this... i just don't like it. i'd like to keep my profile as open and public as possible, for me that's the main reason why to have an online photoblog.

but maybe you're right, i'd either have to stand a certain amount of crazy people then or just delete entries i dislike.

you can just only allow members to comment, and allow anyone to view.

It's not fun to have that happen. I have never had my comments commentable by non-photoblog people but am sure a lot of crap would happen if it was left open.

claude,

try it out... maybe for a while!

it helps to understand reality when you see how many a**holes actually still make the effort to annoy everyone else. otherwise you might start feel too comfortable in the protected environment we all try to live in... ;-)

I've had some, from time to time. My blog is completely open to comments and views. I figure that's the inevitable outcome of anything anonymous, and I accept it.

Cowards need something to do, I suppose. I take it as an opportunity for practicing an emotional boundary - Anything anonymous and stupid is deleted in the same way I would scrape shit off the bottom of my shoe - as quickly and completely as possible.

Really, considering anyone can say anything, it is amazing how few stupid comments we see around here. You tend to make playful/critical comments, so you know that's going stir up some angry, humourless people.

julia,

as always your comment is psychologically superb and practically profound.

what would we do without you on photoblog?

thanks & cheers,

Been there. Done that. Got the *I've been stalked on Photoblog T-shirt...*

Stalker entries are at their best, pathetic. I have found it's best to just delete and ignore...

Yeay!
I have my first anonymous comments!!! And it has been opened for weeks! See. Stalkers only come to juicy people. They don't come to mine: they run off when they see the lengh of the texts.
Will keep you informed of the progress (I promise I won't, personally, make my own obsessed incognito comments and then complain about it)

There you go again, making me grin. How do you think of such things: "make my own obsessed incognito comments and then complain about it"?
pixel

Probably because I have done it in the past... Out of boredom! ANd lack of friends!!!

I go away for 5 days and what happens? I have had atleast 20 '?????' comments!

I wouldn't have been bothered, however, the whole reason I leave my blog open for anon. comments, is that my 10 year old niece regulary visits my blog, as does my Father and a few friends. It wasn't particulary nice for them to have been able to read "your pics of f**king shit" blah blah.

I just noticed one of these comments in your intergalactic post... what an absolutely awful thing to happen, and so disrespectful... I made sure I felt it known what I thought without detracting from the essence and cleverness of your post, Emma.

To me, jealousy seems the main motivation for a person like that.
