Just got my Holga yesterday and I ordered some 120 film. Anyone else use 120 film and do you develope it yourself or send it off.

I seem to be regressing in terms of photography, I learned digital and love digital but have found great pleasure in shooting film and developing, its a whole different ballgame and sooooo much more exciting.

I shoot 35mm either black and white or colour transparencies, the colour film goes to the lab, I believe colour developing is quite complicated...black and white however is relatively simple and inexpensive, i'm guessing that developing 120 is not too dissimilar to 35 in terms of chemicals timings etc, probably just the loading etc that differs.

I bought all the bits and pieces i needed second hand on ebay mostly, and chemicals some locally and some ebay also. I load the film in my bathroom as it has no window and I can shut out the light completely and then develop the film in the kitchen since once its in the tank you don't need to be in the dark.

I did a film photography night class for a few weeks, its so much easier learning in the flesh and in a simple manner, than on the net, since you can get caught up in lots of debates about allsorts of complicated stuff..I was hooked straight away...I love it and would recomend shooting and developing your own film to anyone...I don't make prints in this way, that requires room and equipment that I don't have, I have to make do (for now) with scanning my negs/slides.

I'd quite like a holga....I should add it to my list.
