Great! In Colombia bamboo´s spelling as "guadua" and it´s used to built houses and buildings in certain regions. My grandfather was a wood and guadua builder on Andean Mountain Chain. Thanks for sharing. Best Wishes!

Bamboo is a kind of material that seems to me altogether magic. A tree that grows extremely quick. A wood that seems to have been intentionally shaped by some extremely skilled but unconceited crafstman. A material of manifold possibilities. I wish bamboo forests were industrially exploited as are forests in central Europe not just felled for industrial purposes. It would prevent their complete destruction and bring a nature friendly means of livelihood for many people and many living beings. Dangerous or not, it would be a pity that this bamboo knitting craft were lost and/or replaced by metallic scaffolding: it is beatiful and still perfectible. This craft should be preserved but the salaries and the security conditions of these scaffolders should be improved in order to meet developped countries standards. Sorry for all that. About the pics: so simple yet so beautiful.
