I didn't take these photos because they were taken way before I was born, but I think it points to why taking pictures is so important to all of us, because it is a capture of a moment in time that will never be seen again. My son-in-law's grandfather was a airline pilot getting his license in 1931, after doing his training at Parks Air College in St. Louis, Missouri. After a long career with United Airlines he retired. When Carl's eye sight started to fail his wife took all his photos from Parks Air College and glued them on a big board so he could see them better and they were all in one place, he enjoyed these photos up until he died about eight years ago. The family ask me see if I could restore some of these faded pictures and make copies to put on a CD so they wouldn't be lost.
It has been a real treat working with these old photos and I have made some very interesting discoveries of airplanes I have never seen before, but the best discovery was a photo of a lady that had learned to fly along with Carl and other students, her name is Amelia Earhart.
