Cross Canada Trip - Day 52

2008.08.17
Went through a small town, just west of Munising, called Christmas. As you would expect, a 40 foot Santa greets visitors to a local Christmas ornament store.

All places seem to have their beautiful spots. This is a marina in Superior, Wisconsin, at the very westerly tip of Lake Superior. Across the water - rows of rail tracks, illustrating the leisure and the work of a smallish mid-west town.

Made it to Bemidji, Minnesota, which lays claim to Paul Bunyan and his ox, Babe. You may recognize a third figure in this photo.

Also, Bemidji claims to be the `First City on the Mississippi` (this and next photo). We think the river is a little bit bigger by the time it hits New Orleans.
