I just got back from two days of birding in the Cape May region of New Jersey. Despite reports of Red-headed Woodpeckers at The Villas Wildlife Management Area, none crossed my path, despite my several stake-outs in groves I felt sure they'd be drawn to. Alas. There were many other cool surprises though. Here are some highlights from my trip.

Wow - beautiful wildlife shots again! Love the first few for the reflections in the water and the cat-tails are look gorgeously fluffy. Great capture of the upside-down nuthatch :)
