1. You may recall the toad mating scene I posted a couple weeks ago. Well, now there are independent creatures hatched from those egg strands -- no more than black heads with tails -- but thousands of them!

2. Sometimes they cluster close together and spin around stirring up the sand on the bottom of the shallow pond.

3. This frog was hanging out in the muck, blending in with all the slimy green-grays of the pond matter. His gorgeous eyes let me know he was there.

9. "Quack!" It was interesting that the drake's voice was far softer than this hen's. More of a soft purring sound. But this lady had a lot to say!

11. At a distance we saw a pair of geese with their four goslings. They were appropriately protective of their new ones, and we didn't get very close.

My boyfriend and I took a long walk in the woods today and lingered at several of the ponds I like to visit. Here is some of what we saw.

Very nice pics. Do you think that the frog hanging out by the tadpoles is the father? I watched a documentary once. It said that the father's keep an eye on the tadpoles and knows all of his "children".
WOW! I missed this set initially somehow, I'm glad I got to see it, these are amazing! The shots of the duck with it's mouth open made me laugh, and the frog and turkey shots are awesome!
