Bonaparte's Gull swimming into the wind

Least Sandpiper poking in the mud next to over-exposed log.

Great Black-backed Gull

The elegant Cedar Waxwing. I just LOVE this bird! There were several of these darting in and out of this clump of trees to feed on a swarm of bugs. (See next photo.)

A female Belted Kingfisher (Queenfisher?). Not a great photo, but ID-able

A sweet little Song Sparrow who gave us a lovely serenade.

This photo is only included to represent the Nelson's Sharp-tailed Sparrows we saw popping up and down in the marsh grasses. Mostly down, hence this rather non-descript image.

Great shots.... I always maintain that birds can seem (indeed are) so difficult to capture on "film" despite being so accessible..... and then the likes of yourself seem to prove me wrong!!!... arrghhhh..... guess need to try harder..... ;))

Wonderful set. I always love your bird photos. I'd love to see a Cedar Waxwing someday. We're right on the light between their year-round habitat and winter habitat, so maybe I'll get lucky. We're also planning to do some planting that might attract them.
