I have no photo to post here, but the news reports from Japan and the images I keep seeing from there have sucked the air from my lungs. My recent trip to view a nuclear power plant with my 8th graders resonates differently now that this earthquake and tsunami may have compromised at least one of the Japanese plants. We are so very fragile.

stormfish look who's coming back to honour us with her presence! ;-)

yes, it's all quite shocking. and yet, have we all been so brainwashed all these years before that nobody expected such a catastrophy anymore? have we become so used to the atom energy lobbyists never ending reconfirmations that all is under control, safe, no disaster can harm these plants? the shock we feel now... how much is it just a fake reaction of your quilt ridden conscious that you indeed, like me, like all of us, are using this dangerous technology for decades, cause we need aircons, continuous flood lights all through the night, and a global industry that never stops producing rubbish. every now and then, some ten thousands of people have to pay for it. :-(
