I spotted this huge pine cone (it’s about 5 inches tall!) in the car park at school today and thought it would make a good photographic subject so I brought it home. I love the repeating patterns created by the scales and had there been more light this evening I would have taken some close ups of the individual scales – they are beautifully patterned. Who knows, they may yet feature on my blog on another day.
