We’ve spent the day at the Grand Prix circuit at Spa Francorchamps today doing a trackday in Kevin’s Porsche. It’s a fabulous track and some of the hills which have to be climbed as part of the race circuit have to be seen to be believed – I will watch the Formula 1 drivers tackling it with even more respect now! The weather wasn’t especially kind to us and certainly didn’t follow the BBC forecast (although Spa always claims to have its own microclimate). However, the rain didn’t put us off and I got some good shots of the cars on the pit straight and around ‘La Source’ (the first corner on the circuit). The photographic opportunities were miles better here than at Silverstone (see my post from 20th February) with much closer access to the track and lower safety fences. Here are my best two of the day - one of Kevin driving out of ‘La Source’ and the other of a Ford GT on the pit straight.

I really admire you that you can go to a circuit to race with your own car. I also have a sport car but our country has no circuit for us to race legally. So, sometimes, we have to race on the street illegally.. Poor :( ThomasChu · 2008-05-30: 11:34
