Since we dug our front garden over and planted some new plants this spring a lot of poppy plants have popped up, presumably from seeds which were lying dormant in the soil. The poppies finally started flowering yesterday. When I arrived home yesterday evening they were almost closed up but today they opened up fully to face the sunshine. The bees were having a great time among the flowers and I even managed to capture one as it landed on the poppy.
