On my way home from summer school I took a detour into London to do a recording today. My friend Sophie and I had been asked to record a recorder duet by Carl Nielsen for a CD of his complete wind works. The duet is a tiny little piece (probably only about 30 seconds of music in total!) but it was a great honour to be asked to record it. This morning we drove into London to the Henry Wood Hall, just off Borough High Street. The hall used to be a church but is now used as a recording and rehearsal venue. It’s a wonderful building, very similar to St. John’s, Smith Square in London and has a perfect acoustic for music. I took these photos while we were there as a record of the occasion.
