As part of this weekend’s Racing Revival at Goodwood there were more air displays today. We couldn’t go to the Revival today so instead we sussed out a good vantage point outside the circuit where we could view for free – in the car park of our local Homebase DIY store! This afternoon’s display was by the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, composed of a Hurricane, a Lancaster Bomber and a Spitfire MkIX. Afterwards there was another display by a Mustang P51D and another Spitfire. The Lancaster (as used in the Dambusters raids in WWII) was particularly imposing and it’s not often you get to see one in the air. Kevin tells me there are only two airworthy ones and the other one lives in Canada! These photos were taken by Kevin with my camera.
