I’ve had a busy time working indoors today so I decided to go for a still life photo for today’s post. Wandering round the supermarket at lunchtime I spotted these crumpets and thought they’d make a very tasty subject. I set up the framing and lighting before I toasted them. After I’d toasted them I added some butter (it really has to be proper butter – margarine’s just not the same!) and quickly set about taking some shots before the butter completely melted. I’ve learnt from Wikipedia that crumpets of this type are a peculiarly English thing (Scottish ones are much thinner apparently) but I can confirm that these were absolutely delicious. One of the perks of food photography – you get to eat it afterwards!
