Kevin asked me to take some photos this afternoon for a brass band concert he’s publicising on Facebook. He provided the trumpet (ironically it’s silver plated rather than brass but many so called brass band instruments are) and I spent some time photographing it on top of my blue pashmina (which is the same colour as Chichester City Band’s uniform) on our garden bench, taking in various angles on the valves. This one is my favourite of the collection. I found it quite hard to get a really accurate focus on the end valve, partly because it’s such a shiny object I suspect but also because I was working at the limit of my lens’s close focussing ability.
