Tudor ceiling

My bedroom at Belstead House this weekend has been a very grand room in the main house called the Judge’s Room. This room was originally used to house visiting judges as they were not allowed to stay anywhere the pubic had access to. This was a private house, owned by Suffolk County Council, so it was ideal as lodgings for them. The room is in the oldest part of the house and has oak panelling and its original Tudor plaster ceiling. As the rain has finally started this morning I thought I would feature this ceiling, with its ornate details in my photo for today.

Kay Hooker What a wonderful place to stay. I would have found it difficult to get out of bed. I would have just laid there looking at the ceiling.
