Sipping the nectar

Today’s shot was very much a case of being in the right place at the right time. As I walked over to the dining hall this evening I saw one of the students rescuing this cabbage white butterfly from the corridor and placing it on a buddleia bush. I had my camera with me so I grabbed a few shots and when I downloaded them I found this one was reasonably well in focus. It may not be a particularly exotic or beautiful butterfly but it’s the first time I’ve managed any butterfly shots so I don’t think it’s too bad for a first attempt!

Lynda Lovely. There are lots of these in my garden at the moment and I have to keep rescuing them from the cats who like to chase and chew them!

Latecomer Very nice. It reminds me that our southern summer can't be so very far away.

That white butterfly landed on the violet flower is outstanding!
I add it to my favourites.
