If only all police cars were this cute...

This car was built to advertise Outspan oranges. It's based on a Mini but has to be driven with care - above about 30 miles per hour it has a tendency to roll!!

Just in case repairs are needed...

This was only a practice session but the drivers were still trying hard. One car ended the session with only 3 wheels!

The green car was right on the ragged edge here - he slid across the track towards me after this but just managed to avoid sliding off completely.

The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight - a Spitfire, Lancaster and Hurricane. Shame I couldn't persude the sun to come out and the sky to be blue :-(

A Messerschmitt 109 - the only airworthy one in Europe. Ironically, this particular one has a Rolls Royce engine in it, the same as the ones used in the Spitfires.

Kevin and I spent the first of three days at the Goodwood Racing Revival today. As this year is the Mini’s 50th birthday there were lots of Minis there, both on and off the track and they feature quite heavily in today’s photos. There was also a large display of aircraft, static and flying, and I managed to capture some of these. Sadly the sky was far from ideal for the purpose – the sun stubbornly refused to appear until late afternoon and the sky remained a dull grey for most of the day. Tomorrow we’re planning to watch more of the action on track as the first of the races begin. The other highlight tomorrow should be the airborne appearance of the Avro Vulcan bomber – providing its engine doesn’t misbehave like last year. Watch this space for more photos to come!
