Herbie happily posed for photos while she waited patiently to be put to work near the mill.

There were lots of pet dogs there with their owners - this one looked very alert. His owner told me he was supposed to have pricked up ears but I rather like his cute floppy ones!

Ploughing, the old fashioned way, in action. I jumped out of the way just in time!

This chap was very happy to pose. I dread to think how big an appetite he has!

This young Barn Owl was still under training from her handler but seemed quite at ease while she tucked into her lunch.

A Lugger Falcon

When I woke up it was shaping up to be a lovely sunny day so I decided to pop up to the Weald and Downland Open Air Museum in Singleton to take a look around their autumn countryside fair. As well as the historic buildings to look around they had demonstrations of ploughing (with horses and vintage tractors), gun dog training, falconry displays and much more. I ended up taking far more photos of animals than I did the buildings and this quote from George Orwell’s Animal Farm sprang to mind as a good title for my Photoblog post.
