I visited Aldwick today to teach a pupil at her house and made a point of getting there an hour early so I could take a walk along the beach with my camera. I visited the same beach almost exactly a year ago and discovered an abandoned section of the Mulberry Harbour used for the D-Day landings in 1944. I thought I’d see if I could find a different take on the same spot today and I wasn’t disappointed. The receding sea was as calm as a mill pond and there were some beautifully muted colours in the cloudless twilight sky. I decided to go for a minimalist approach, purposely using a wide aperture to keep just the silhouetted groynes and Mulberry Harbour in focus.
