During my walk between the car park and school this morning I was musing about what I might shoot for today’s theme when I spotted this piece of string tied to one of the fence posts around the school field. I have no idea what the string is for but it has evidently been there for quite some time as its home to quite an impressive colony of lichen. I decided a monochrome treatment would work well with this shot to bring out the texture of the lichen and the old wooden fence post.
