My initial idea for today’s theme was to shoot some of my photographic gadgets but I came to the conclusion that was just too obvious and decided to have a motoring theme for my post instead. I took a trip up to the Motor Circuit at Goodwood this afternoon to see what I could find. The circuit was used for races (including Formula 1) between 1948 and 1966 and is notorious as the circuit where Sir Stirling Moss had the accident which ended his racing career. These days it tends to mostly be used for non-competitive events such as track days, the Goodwood Racing Revival (where they actually race priceless historic cars) and various other motoring related events. A couple of weeks ago Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton were even there testing the new McLaren road car.
As I wandered around the site today it was obvious that the track was silent and I went about snapping a few shots. While I was there I got chatting to Ian, one of the marshals, and he very kindly allowed me to take some photos of my Mini in the pitlane and on the start line. I’ve driven Kevin’s cars around the circuit at track days before now but it was great to finally see my Mini on track, even if it was stationery at the time. Thank you Ian for being so helpful and willing to allow me to sneak onto the track!
Today’s theme has been set by Brenda (Djnana) and I think it’s going to be a challenging one to work out for the uninitiated, even from our collected posts – I’ll be interested to see what suggestions you all come up with. Thank you Brenda for setting such a great theme!

Very nice Helen. Love the skies and angles in the first.

Is that the true color of your mini? It's gorgeous! I'm a big F1 fan, so it's great to see these pictures of the track. I like the angles you used, and that moody sky in the background really plays up the color of the car!
