I got back from my course in Rugby last night so I allowed myself a relaxing morning today, spending some of it catching up on the 250 postings my Photoblog friends have made over the last five days. You are nothing if not prolific here on Photoblog!! At lunchtime I popped into Chichester and threw my little Panasonic compact into my bag in case I saw anything worthy of photographing. While I was in town I took a short stroll around St. Martin’s Square where I noticed this very well worn handle on the door to St. Mary’s Hospital. There have been almshouses on this site since the 13th century, although I’m sure this handle is nowhere near that old. However, from the texture of the paintwork and the wood behind, it’s obviously been fondled by many hands over many years!

I like this handle very much! and handles in general... One of my favourite themes. I can understand you well, Helen: I'm so behind in visiting my friends' blogs and others...
