My train from Sheffield this evening was cancelled so I whiled away some of my free time waiting for the next train by taking some photos of the rather impressive water feature in Sheaf Square, just in front of the station building. I’ve seen this huge sculpture when I’ve visited Sheffield before but when I was here last November the water had been turned off, presumably to stop it freezing up. I was intrigued by the curvy lines, with the rivulets of water cascading downwards into a gully below. Just after I took this shot the water started steaming in the afternoon sunshine but the steamy shots I took just didn’t have the same graphic impact as the clouds reduced the contrast.
