I got up reasonably early and went for a quick stroll along the stretch of beach behind the school this morning. I thought I’d managed to miss the worst of the rain but, predictably, as soon as I set foot on the sea wall it began to hammer it down! Luckily I was dressed appropriately so I wasn’t deterred and snapped a few frames of the beach, looking northwards, before beating a hasty retreat. Initially I thought the view didn’t look terribly promising as the tide was out but as I looked at my shots on the back of my camera I realised there was something quite satisfying about the muted tones and minimalism of these seascapes. Should the weather be any better tomorrow I intend to return for a longer walk – surely it can’t rain every day in the north?!
