Lighting the seas
We had the luxury of an afternoon off today so I took the opportunity to go and visit some friends who live nearby. I was a little early so I stopped off in Knott End in the hope of finding my daily photo and to waste a little time. Knott End directly faces across the water towards Fleetwood, which stands at the end of a peninsula to the west. A small passenger ferry runs across this short stretch of water (depending on the weather) and at Knott End there is a slipway running out into the water which the ferry stops at. Today the water level was quite high (and pretty choppy too) but the slipway is obviously quite long as there were lamp posts stretching some way out into the sea. I was rather taken with the way they were marching into the water towards the threatening stormy sky.
