On my way home this afternoon my satnav decided, despite my best efforts to persuade it otherwise, that it wanted me to drive right through the centre of Oxford, despite the fact that most of the roads are closed to all traffic except buses. I was getting very frustrated until I found myself outside the Sheldonian Theatre and that seemed an obvious moment to take a few minutes out to regroup and find today’s photo at the same time. The architecture in that part of Oxford is wonderful and I really must go back another time. However, it was the stone busts around the theatre which caught my eye. I can’t help but feel this chap is thinking, “Oh for goodness sake, not another tourist with a camera” as he rolls his eyes! You’ll be pleased to know I did eventually find a way out of Oxford, a mere 45 minutes after I started my journey. I think next time I’ll just use a map….

He does have that look, great photo.. I have been to Oxford..at a party in the 80's when i was a student..my pal drove us all the way from Dundee in a rented LADA..was a great party and lovely town ..I seem to remember a shark coming out of a rooftop there..a model shark obviously...must google that now in case I am totally off my trolley!! elizzi · 2010-09-26: 18:46
