I’ve been toying with the idea of trying my hand at some film photography for a while – I like the challenge of using the knowledge I’ve built up over the last five years to take photos without being able to instantly review them. I mentioned this to my Dad and he offered to lend me his Ricoh film SLR. I’ve put a new battery in it and have bought a couple of rolls of black and white film so I’m all set up to have a go. It’ll be interesting to see how I get on without the LCD screen. I thought I’d take a few shots of it for today’s post and at some point (assuming they’re any good) I’ll scan a few of my photos and post them here too.

I love the KR-10. I've still got my one, but sadly there's a problem with the shutter and it only works on the bulb setting. I've been wondering for ages whether I should pay to get it fixed or write it off and break it up for a post on my blog. Your dad's looks lovely though - so bright and new. The focus and clarity in these shots is really excellent, Helen! And what a treasure it is to use your father's camera!
